Council Action 8-20-74 Resolution No. 3501 communicating to the Board of Supervisors the City's dissatisfaction regarding the processing of the City's Special Municipal Election was adopted and a copy of the resolution was directed to be sent to the Registrar of Voters also. -2- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 RESOLUTION NO. 3501 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, COMMUNI- CATING TO THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF SAN DIEGO COUNTY THE CITY COUNCIL'S DISSATISFACTION IN REGARD TO THE PROCESS- ING OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION WHICH WAS CONSOLIDATED WITH THE STATEWIDE PRIMARY HELD ON JUNE 4, 1974. WHEREAS, on June 4, 1974, the City of Carlsbad held a consolidated election with the County of San Diego to fill a Council vacancy; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad feels there was unnecessary delay and confusion in obtaining the final election results, necessitating the expense of a manual count; and WHEREAS, this delay resulted in additional expense to the candidates and brought unnecessary problems to the handling of Council duties as well as to the citizens of the City of Carlsbad; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Carlsbad wishes to express its dissatisfaction with the handling of the election count by the office of the County Registrar of Voters and feels the Board of Supervisors of San Diego County should consider a request to pay the cost of the recount. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Carlsbad City Council held on the 20th day of August * 1974, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Cmn.
