Statement of the Matter
The City Council has considered the development of a Charter
for the City of Carlsbad at several meetings. The last such
meeting was January 9, 1975, at which time Mr. William
Holliman, Attorney at Law, spoke to the Council concerning
the advantages and disadvantages of a City Charter.
At the request of Councilman Me Comas this matter is being
placed on the agenda for a continuation of those Council
discussions.

1-21-75 The staff was instructed to attempt to obtain a copy of the
City Charter that was drafted for the City of Davis. Further,
the staff was instructed to obtain the services of Dr. Lee
for a presentation to the Council on the disadvantages of a
City Charter at a reasonable cost.
