Statement of the Matter
The San Diego Gas £• Electric Co. anticipates beginning construction
of the underground electric system in Underground DistrictNo. 5 in
February.
The City Ordinance provides that the affected property owners within
the district be notified of the date they must be ready to receive
underground service from the new system.
A resolution setting the dates for connection to the underground
system and removal of the overhead lines should be adopted and sent
to the property owners in accordance with Section 11.08.030 of City
Code.
This underground district is located on El Camino Real opposite Rancho
Carlsbad Mobile Home Park.

Gentlemen:
Subject: El Camino Real Underground Utility District
As you are aware, the City of Carlsbad and the County of San Diego have
adjoining Underground Utility Districts along El Camino Real from Rancho
Carlsbad Drive to approximately 2,350 feet northwesterly.
This department is now establishing the date customers are to be ready
to receive underground service as well as the completion date for the
County's district. These dates are April 1, 1975 and May 15, 1975
respectively.
Since work in both districts will be done at the same time, this depart-
ment requests that you establish these dates for the City's district.
If you have any questions, please call Kerry Standifer of this department
at 565-5234.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, SETTING THE
TIME TO BE READY TO CONNECT TO UNDERGROUND
ELECTRIC SYSTEM IN UNDERGROUND UTILITY
DISTRICT NO. 5
WHEREAS, on August 20, 197^, the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad adopted Res. No. 3^90 establishing Underground District
No. 5; and
WHEREAS, Section .11.08.030 of City Code requires that property
owners be notified of.the time to be ready to connect to the Under-
ground system by subsequent Resolution; and
WHEREAS, the underground system is to be completed by April
1, 1975, and overhead poles are to be removed by May 15, 1975; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the date on which affected property owners must be
ready to receive underground service is April 1, 1975.
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be recorded in
the County Recorder's office and also mailed to each affected pro-
perty owner.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, held the 18th day of February
, 1975, by the following vote, to wit:
