.Statement of the Matter
The Subdivision Ordinance of the City of Carlsbad refbrs to "City of
Carlsbad Standards" which are adopted by resolution by City Council.
The following standards are included in the attached resolution
defining and adopting such "Standa•rds":
g 1. "Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction"

I 2. Existing City design criteria and standard drawings.

1 RESOLUTION NO. 3622
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING
3 CERTAIN STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS
GOVERNING THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF
4 PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AS THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
STANDARDS.

6 WHEREAS, Title 20 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code provides
7 that all public improvements constructed in connection with sub-
8 divisions of land shall be constructed in accord with the City of
9 Carlsbad Standards; and
10 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has
11 identified a series of publications which contain standards and
12 specifications which are suitable for adoption as the City of
13 Carlsbad Standards;
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
8 15 the City of Carlsbad as follows:

a a 19 adopted as the City of Carlsbad Standards:
20 (a) The 1973 edition of the "Standard Specif-cations
21 of Public Works Construction" and the 1974 Supplement 'thereto,
22 both prepared and promulgated by the Southern California Chapters
23 of the American Public Works Association and the Associated
24 General Contractors of America, as modified by the City of
25 Carlsbad "Standard Special Provisions" for use in conjunction
26 with the said Standard Specifications;

(b) The City of Carlsbad Standard Design Criteria for
the Design of Public Works Improvements, and the included Standard
Drawings, dated October, 1970;
(c) The Caltrans Highway Design Manual, Section
7-1000 entitled "Bike Route Standards", dated July, 1974, prepared
and promulgated by the State of California Department of Trans-
portation.
3. That the design and construction of all public im-
provements constructed within the City of Carlsbad after the
effective date of this resolution shall be in accord with the
standards and specifications adopted by this resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a meeting of the City
Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 1st
day of April , 1975, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Frazee, Chase, Lewis, Skotnicki and
Councilwoman Casler
