Statement of the Matter
Settlement has been made with our insu'rance carrier in the amount of $24,500.00 for fire damage that occurred to the Magee house on May 8, 1975.
In addition, funds have been budgeted in Fiscal Year 1974-75, 1975-76 in the amount of $26,000.00 for the restoration and
development of the Magee property. Terms and conditions in
Mrs. Magee's bequest state that the City of CarLsbad maintain the property for use in their park and recreation program and that the home be restored for park and recreation activity use, or as the location for the establishment by the City of a historical society headquarters.
In order to proceed with the development of the Magee property
' in an expeditious manner, staff is requesting that the services
of an architect be retained to develop specifications for bids
to remodel
