EMPLOYEE DEPENDENT INSURANCE REFUND/CITY REFUND
Statement of the Matter
Iri Fiscal Year 1973-74 ninety-two City employees were carrying
dependent insurance under the Metropolitan Insurance Plan.
Recently the City was refunded $13,759.00 based on premiums
paid vs. claims. As the premium was paid partly by the employees
and partly by the City, a division of costs has been made. This
would indicate that currently employed personnel who paid a
portion of the premiums in Fiscal Year 1973-74 would be entitled
to a refund. Based on the number of months these employees were`
covered under the plan, the monetary division would-be $9,065.00
to the employeed and $4,694.00 to the City.

Recommendation
If Council concurs, instruct staff to reimburse employees covered
under the Metropolitan Insurance Plan, pro rated on the number
of months they were covered.
