Mgr. 5 - Subject: LA COST A AVENUE - ACCEPTANCE -OFSTREET IMPROVEMENTS FOR MA I NTENANCE. -_ Statement of the Matter The street and drainage improvements f6r La Costa Avenue, which were installed prior to annexation to the City of Carlsbad ac- cording to County drawing T-1004 (RS 1796), have been accepted by the County Board of Supervi.sors on August 12, 1975 (Minute Item No. 30). As built drawings are on file in the Engineering Department. The County Engineer has recommended that the street improvements be accepted by the City of .Carlsbad. Exhibits A. MASSMAN County Engineer County Operations Center August 1, 1975 City Council City of Carlsbad 1200 Elm Avenue Carlsbad, California 92008 Gentlemen: SUBJECT: Approval of Street and Drainage Improvements in La Costa Avenue T 1004, RS 1796 (Supervisorial District V) This is to advise you that the improvements in the above subject street, which lies within the boundary of the City of Carlsbad, have now been com- pleted. We have made the necessary recommendation to the Board of Supervisors for the approval of the work and the filing of a "Notice of Completion" in the County Recorder's Office. Since La Costa Avenue will not become a County Maintained Street, we recom- mend that your Council order this street be made a part of the Maintained Street System of the City of Carlsbad. SurveyL=-- - Augus!: 4, 1975 SUBJECT: Acceptance of Street and Drainage Improvements in La Costa Avenue, T1004; KS 1796. (Supervisorial District 5) This project is located east of El Camino Real and south of the La Costa Country Club in the La Costa area. (Location reference: Thomas Bros., Page 20, B-6, 1975 Edition.) The street and drainage improvements for La Costa Avenue have been constructed in accordance with plans approved by the County Engineer. An Environmental Impact Report was not required for this project Secause the map was approved prior to December 5, 1972. It is my RECOINEND ATIO" That the Board of Supervisors take the necessary action on Items One through Tk-q of the following recommendations prior to action on Item Three. 1. That the work be accepted by your Board. 2. That a Notice of Completion be recorded and a copy of the notice of Completion be forwarded to the surety OA the bond. - '- ** Board of Supervisors * - 2- August 4, 1975 3. That your Board, acting as the Board of Directors of the San Diego County Flood Control District, accept into the maintained drainage system of the San Diego County Flood Control District those drainage facilities con- structed within the drainage easements previously dedicated on said map and accepted on behalf of the District by its duly authorized officer. 4. That a copy of the Board Resolution approving these improvements and a copy of the Notice of Completion be sent to the City Council of the City of Carlsbad. Discuss ion A bond in the amount of $54,300.00 is filed with your Board to insure the improvement of the street and drainage easements. Inasmuch as this street is now within the City Limits of the City of Carlsbad, it will not be necessary for the street to be included in the County Maintained Road System. We are sending a letter to the City Couiicil of the City of Carlsbad recommending that this street become a part of the City Street System and that it be placed in the City Maintained Street System.
