MEMORANDUM
November R, 1975
TO: CITY COUNCIL
FROM: SECRETARY OF THE PLANNING COXMISSION
SUBJECT: RURAL RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS
The Planning Commission at it's October 29, 1975 meeting, by minute motion,
requested the City Council to ask the staff to investigate public improve-
ment requirements for large residential estate lots 2 acres or more.
The Planning Commission is of the opinion that there are a number of areas
within the City of Carlsbad that would be conducive to large lot residential
estate development because of topography, uniqueness of vegetation, etc. Our
present public improvement requirements are uniformily applied to all residential
developments without. -respect :to the size_of.the lot.
Therefore the Planning Commission requests that the staff investigate the
potentials of developing public facility requirements for large lot residential
subdivision.
