Subject: Fabrication and Installation of Ladder Barriers
Statement of the Matter
On December 16, 1975, the 1975-76 City of Carlsbad Budget was amended
to have funds available for the fabrication and installation of ladder
barriers at the four City reservoirs.
In accordance with Section 3.28.100 of the Municipal Code, Notice to
Bidders was published and Request for Bids was made on January 8, 1976,
Two bids were received, opened, witnessed and recorded on January 22,
1976. The lowest bid was submitted by Peyton's Welding Service, 3045
State Street; Carlsbad, Ca 92008, in the amount of $1,310, plus 6%
tax on materials, for a total of $1,352.60. Funds are available in
account W 5061, Capital Outlay for the completion of this project.

Recommendation
Staff recommends the contract for the fabrication and installation of
the ladder barriers at the four City reservoirs be awarded to Peyton's
Welding Service. If Council concurs, they should adopt Resolution
Council action
2-3-76 Resolution #3845 was adopted, accepting bid and authorizing
execution of contract.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY- COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING
A BID AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF
A CONTRACT FOR THE FABRICATION AND
INSTALLATION OF LADDER BARRIERS AT THE
FOUR CITY RESERVOIRS.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, as follows:
1. That the bid of Peyton's Welding Service; 3045 State
Street; Carlsbad, California 92008, is hereby accepted and
the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute a contract
for the fabrication and installation of ladder barriers at the
four City reservoirs for a total cost of $1,352.60.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held on February 3, 1976,
by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Council men Frazee, Chase, Lewis, Skotnicki and
CounciIwoman Casler
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
