HOUSING COMMISSION FUNCTIONS
Statement of the Matter
The City Council established a Housing Commission by
Ordinance No. 1189 adopted January 6, 1976. It is
therefore necessary to establish the functions of
the commission.

RESOLUTION NO. 3858 .
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA ESTABLISHING THE
3 FUNCTIONS OF THE HOUSING COMMISSION.
4 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California
5 has created and established a Housing Commission by adoption of
6 Ordinance No. 1189;
7 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
8 City of Carlsbad that the functions of the Housing Commission shall
9 include, but not be restricted to, the following:
10 1. Review the annual budget and any budget revisions
of the Housing Authority of the City of Carlsbad,
11 and make recommendations to the Housing Authority
of the City of.Carlsbad with respect to those
12 documents.
13 2. Review biannual and annual fiscal reports of the
City of Carlsbad Housing Authority required by
14 the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
15 3. Review any proposed policy changes of the Housing
Authority of the City of Carlsbad and make
16 recommendations to'the Housing Authority of the
City of Carlsbad regarding'said policies.
17 4. Assess, at least once yearly, the need for additional
18 subsidized housing in the City of Carlsbad and make
appropriate recommendations to the City of Carlsbad
19 Housing Authority.
20 5. Review any requests for owner rental increases and
make recommendations to the City of Carlsbad Housing
21 Authority.
22 6. The Housing Commission shall advise and make
recommendations to the commissioners of the
23 Housing Authority or the City Council as either
body may request on matters relating to the
activities of the Housing Authority.
