Subject: REQUEST FOR SEWER RIGHT OF WAY ACQUISITION, RZUlCHO LA COSTA SEWE3 Statement of the Matter Engineering staff is in the process of reviewing the plans for a proposed 3.5 mile (approx.) sewer line known as "Rancho La Costa Sewer". Associated Engineers, the consultant, had acquired most of the required sewer easements. Efforts had been made to obtain the remaining easements from Westland Investments, Inc., eta1 and . Covington Bros., Inc., but have been unsuccessful to date. Associated Engineers is requesting the City of Carlsbad to obtain the remaining easements. It is emphasized on their letter (see Exhibit "A"), that the owner, Rancho La Costa, a limited partner- ship,will bear all the costs for acquiring these sewer easements. Exhibits . .. A. Paul Bussey, City Hanager City of Carlsbad City Hall 1200 Elm Avenue Carlsbad, California 92008 Subject: Refer: Our Letter dated 16 February 1976 to Mr. Flanagan Dear Sir: Request for City Assistance in Sewer Right-of-Way Acquisition, RAXCHO LA COSTA SENER As set forth in the reference letter to Mr. Flanagan, it appears th3i the time has come to request City assistance in the acquisition of the remaining rights-of-way for the Rancho la Costa sewer. The Rancho La Costa Sewer Project has been proposed for many years and was included in the sewer study we preaared in the mid-63's for the City of Carlsbad. on this project for the major property owner concerned since December 1973. Engineers office.
