Subject: RESURFACING OF CITY STREETS - FY 1975-76
Statement of the Matter
The UtilitiesYMaintenance Department has submitted a list of
streets to be resurfaced under the 1975-76 Street Resurfacing
Program. The Engineering Department has reviewed the list and
sent notices to the utility companies, districts and departments to ascertain any conflicts with proposed utility projects.

1. Memorandum dated January 13, 1976 from Utilities/Maintenance Director.
Recommendations
Approve the list of streets to be resurfaced as submitted and instruct the staff to prepare contract documents for bid.

The attached list of streets (Exhibit "A") were derived from our master list in accordance with Council Policy No. 21 and are proposed for re- surfacing. These streets, when resurfaced, will bring all streets into the category from fair to good as per the January 1976 inspection; with the exception of Numbers 27 & 30.
"Exhibit B" shows Numbers 27 and 30 as being high on the numerical listing,
but they have been omitted in "Exhibit A". scheduled for underground improvements by the telephone and S.D.G.E. companies. In the near future they are

These two streets are unpaved and I feel that assess-
"Exhibit A" proposes a total of 6,427 tons of material and with an estimated bid price of $16.00 per ton it will cost $102,832, which will leave us well within our budgeted figure of $114,000. Any monies remaining should be held for any emergency repairs, and if not used, returned to the General Fund at the end of the fiscal year.
