Subject: IMPROVEMENT OF LAGUNA RIVIERA PARK AND CAR COUNTRY
PARK - CONTRACT NO. 1033.
Statement of the Matter
Plans and specifications for the improvement of Car Country Park
and Laguna Riviera Park have been prepared by the firm of Tucker
and Kater, Landscape Architects.
The work at Car Country Park will include an irrigation system,
landscaping, concrete walkways and outdoor tables and chairs.
The work at Laguna Riviera Park will include an irrigation system, landscaping, concrete walkways, two tot lots, an asphalt multipur-
pose ball court, picnic tables, and horseshoe court to complement
the existing lighted tennis courts. A comfort station has also been
provided for in the project but will be constructed under a separate
contract.
The estimated cost of the project for Laguna Riviera Park is $65,000
and $13,500 for Car Country Park. Funds in the amount of $35,000
have been budgeted from Park in lieu funds in 1975-76 budget, and an
additional $43,500 is needed to complete both projects and should be
appropriated pridr to award’of contracts. The fund balance in Park Area No. 4 is $47,500. Exhibits

inviting bids for both Laguna Riviera Park and Car Country,Park.

Recommendation
Adopt Resolution No. 3476 , approving plans and specifications and inviting bids.
Council action
4-6-76 Resolution #3876 was adopted, approving plans and specification and authorizing City Clerk to invite bids for the improvement of Laguna Riviera and Car Country Park.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
FICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO IN- VITE BIDS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF' LAGUNA RIVIERA
AND CAR COUNTRY PARK.
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECI-
CONTRACT NO. 1033
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has
determined that it is necessary and in the public interest to
improve Laguna Riviera and Car Country Parks; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of
all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation and other
expense necessary or incidental for said project, Contract No. 103:
have been prepared and filed in the Engineering Department of the
City of Carlsbad and are incorporated by reference herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Citl
of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitaitons are true and correct.
2. That the plans. and specifications as presented are
hereby approved.
3. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is herebl
authori.zed and directed to proceed to publish in
accordance with law, notice to contractors inviting
bids for improvement of Laguna Riviera and Car Countr
Parks, hereinafter described, in accordance with the
plans and specifications hereabove referred to.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad at a regular meeting held the 6th day of April
, 1976, by the following vote, to wit:
Councilwoman Casler AYES: Councilmen Frazee, Lewis, Skotnicki and
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman' Packard
