REGIONAL AIR QUALITY STRATEGIES - CPO
Statement of the Matter
The Comprehensive Planning Organ.zation -has requested the
opportunity to present to the Council the report on Regional
Air Quality Strategies for the San Diego Air Basin. The
purpose of the report is to develop a plan which will lead
to specific strategies to enable the San Diego Region to
attain Federal air quality standards.
This document, and the actions which will come from it, are
extremely important. The adoption by the Region of specific
strategies and their approval by the•Federal Government, may
preclude other direct unacceptable mandates from the Federal
Government relative to air quality,

Recommendation
It is recommended that the Council, after hearing the San Diego
Air Quality Planning Team's report, refer the matter to the
Staff for Staff study and the preparation of recommendations.
