CASE NO. ZCA-76, AMENDMENT TO FLOODPLAIN OVERLAY ZONE (F-P)
Statement of the Matter
The City Council at your meeting of May 18, 1976, directed
the City Attorney to prepare the necessary documents
amending Title 21, Chapter 21.31 of the Carlsbad Municipal
Code by the addition of Section 21.31.170 to provide for
boundary adjustments in the F-P (Floodplain Overlay Zone) .
The ordinance adopting the zone code amendment is attached.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING
TITLE 21, CHAPTER 21.31 OF THE CARLSBAD
MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE ADDITION OF
SECTION 21.31.170 TO PROVIDE FOR BOUNDARY
ADJUSTMENTS IN THE F-P (FLOODPLAIN OVERLAY
ZONE) .
The City Council, of the City of Carlsbad, California, does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Title 21, Chapter 21.31 of the Carlsbad
Municipal Code is amended by the addition of Section 21.31.170
to read as follows:
"21.31.170 Zone boundary adjustments. The Planning
Commission shall initiate a zone change to remove the F-P (Flood-
Plain Overlay) designation from a particular property upon report
of the City Engineer that new information, including but not
limited to updated topographic maps, updated meteorological
reports, or updated Corps of Engineers studies, indicates that
a floodplain boundary line is incorrect.
If such a zone change is approved, appropriate documenta-
tion shall be forwarded to the Federal Insurance Administration
to insure adjustment of said boundary line on Federal Flood
Hazard Boundary Maps."
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty
days after its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to
the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at
least once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after its
adoption .

Carlsbad City Council held on the 1st day of June , 1976
and thereafter
