MAYOR'S YOUTH COWMITTEE
Statement of the Matter
Chuck Grafft, Chairman of the Mayor's Youth Committee has been
accepted for the Junior Statesman Foundation Summer School
Program from June 27 to July 23. Only 60 individuals from
the entire state were selected. This leadership training
program will cost $500.00. He is asking for Council approval
of the expenditure of this sum from the Youth Committee funds
if they feel it appropriate. He has discussed the matter
with the Council liaison member and the advisor to the Youth
Committee and will bring it before the Mayor's Youth Committee
meeting on June 13, 1976. Mr.-Grafft feels he will be able to
share knowledge gained from this leadership training program
with both members of the Youth C—imittee as well as the student
body at school.
An expenditure of funds was approved by the Council in March, 1976
by the Council for Chuck Grafft to attend a Youth Conference in
Concord, California. This conference was cancelled and the funds
returned to the Mayor's Youth Committeq account.
At the present time there are sufficient funds in the budget
designated by the Council for the Mayor's Youth Committee expenses
to cover the cost of the leadership training program.

RE: Request for allocation of fundsSc, rr `1`
Dear Mr. Bussey:
I have been accepted to the Junior Statesman Foundation
Summer School Program for the June 27 to July 23 session.
The cost of this month long leadership training camp ks $500.
It is my hope that the Mayor's Youth Committee could spnnsor
me for this camp.
Due to finals and other conflicts our monthly meeting of
the I.Y.C. was moved from 6/7 to 6/13 and at this meeting a
vote will be taken from among our members for the authorization
of such an expenditure. It has thgo approval of the advisor and
the chairman iy%s far.
From this leadership training camp I hope to be able to
return with a greatly increased understanding of government 8c
leadership. My knowledge could certainly beinsed as A.S.B.
President at C.H.S. next year, Also as chairman of the M.Y.C.
and if at all possible by my giving lectures and semiinars on
