PROPOSED CHANGE TO THE CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY PLAN '
Statement of the Matter
This proposed change would add,to the City's Classification and
Salari Schedule the position of DEVELOPMENT PROCESSING COORDINATOR.
This position would be a special class not found in any other series
in the existing City's classification plan. This proposed change
results from a requirement for an individual to service the counter
that supports the departments of planning, engineering, public works
Wand building within the City Hall. The intent is to' -provide a person
' who is"hble to service the clientele at the counter, coordinating
all of the necessary information, materials and documents 'required,
for -the general category of development within the City of Carlsbad
it is recommdnded that this position be placed at Sd.lary Range 29'.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIJ�, AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 3700 BY AMENDMENT OF THE
CLASSIFICATION AND SALARY RANGE SCHEDULE
TO ADD THE POSITION CLASSIFICATION
DEVELOPMENT PROCESSING COORDINATOR,
SALARY RANGE 29.
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends and the City Council
concurs that the addition of the position DEVELOPMENY PROCESSING
COORDINATOR, Salary Range 29, to the City's Classification and
Salary Range Schedule is necessary for the more efficient
functioning of the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follot:s:
1. That the above facts are true and correct.
2. That the City Council authorizes and directs that the
addition of the title of DEVELOPMENT PROCESSING COOP,DINNrOR,
Salary Range 29, as described in the attached position description,
to the City's Classification and Salary Flange Schedule.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
Carlsbad City Council held on the 15th day of June ,
1976, by tl:e following vote, to wit:

DEVELOPMENT PROCESSING COORDINATOR
Definition This is a technical class not found in any existing
series with duties involving the coordination of
information, applications and materials as they re-
late to development within the City.
Examples 1. Provides information on processing of maps and
0Des grading permits and explanation of existing sub-
division and grading ordinances.

Per2orms assessor book research.
3. Provides information on utility locations, traffic
counts and other summarized data.
9. Provides information as to zone classification
designation.
5. Provides City general plan land use designations.
6. Provides zone code information without interpre-
tation.
7. Issues minor right-of-way permits.
3. Distributes, explains, reviews and accepts parcel
! maps and adjustment plate applications.
t 9. Assembles, stocks and distributes subdivision and
grading ordinances, zone ordinances, environmental
regulations, the City general plan and all attach-
ed elements.

10. Assembles and distributes pending ordinance amend"
ments, copies of staff reports and recommendations.
11. Ch cks out and refiles original copies of maps. and
plwna.
12. Prepares prints of maps and plans as requested by
counter clients.
13. Reviews for zone compliance all business license
applications.
14. Reviews building permits for compliance with zon-
ing, Planning Commission and City Council actions,
policies, the City's specific and general plan:

15. Reviews sign permit requests,for compliance with
zoning and other regulations.
