SuLject: PROPOSED SALARY RANGE CHANGE FOR THE POSITION OF COMMUNICATIONS AND RECORDS SUPERVISOR, Police Department Statement of the Matter City Council Resolution No. 3878 established the position of C014MUNICATIONS AND RECORDS SUPERVISOR. It further established that position at Salary Range 24 in the City's salary schedule. Recruiting, testing and appointment to -the position have been accomplished. The incumbent it the position was appointed on July 5, 1976. Subsequent to this appointment the position has been reevaluated in terms of the position's relationship to other supervisory positions in all areas of the City and the position's relationship to other salary ranges which require similar skills, knowledge and abilities. The result of this reevaluation brings the recommendation that the position Of COMMUNICATIONS AND RECORDS SUPERVISOR be changed from Salary Range 24 to Salary Range 28, to provide compensation appropriate to the responsibilities and skills, knowledge and abilities required for t!:c Position. MIEREAS, the City Manager recommends and the City Council concurs that the Salary Range Schedule (Safety) should be i amended for the position of COW-1UNICATIONS AUD RECORDS SUPERVISOR to reflect Salary Range 23, in lieu of Salary Range 7.,; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows. 0 That the above facts are true and correct; 2. The City Council authorizes and directs the amendment of the Ci.ty's Classification and Salary Range Schedule (Safety) by a change in the salary range for the position of COMUNICATIONS AND RI>CORDs SUPERVISOR from Salary Range 24, to Salary Range 28, as set out in "Exhibit 1" attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. rASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTLD at a reaular neeting of the Carlsbad City.
