Dear Sirs and- Hadarn,
Vle believe it v~ould be highly inappropriate for the
Carlsbad City Council to accept a $1,500 check from Rancho
Ca.rlsbad for the purchase of a motorcycle for the cityfs
police department.
As you know Rancho Carlsbad is a general partnership
operation of David F. Dawes and Ronald. Sm Schwab, viiich con-
cern is now in bankruptcy. As yet none of the unsecured or
secured .creditors have received any payment on their claims
arriounting to several million dollars, Re think any surplus
funds should be used for payment of previously incurred.

In view of the above, we urgently-,myque$t that.
Council refuse to accept any amount from Rancho Caxlsbad.
