FINAL NOTIFICATION PROCESS FOR STREET NAME
CHANGES (FOLLOWING COUNCIL DETERMINATION). I
Follawirig. the final approval of street name changes by the City
Council it is important that a number of people and institutions
are notified of the changes. The responsibility for such notification
should be shared by the Planning Department and the City Clerk's
Off ice.
Nora, at the clergs office, indicated that they will notify the
property owners (final Res.), the Post Office, and the County Offices (recorder & assessor) of the changes. It should be plannings res-
ponsibility to notify the other departments (including police and
fire) and update city maps.
The Planning Department should also prepare a supplement to the
final resolution which is sent out to the property owners. The
supplement should give property owners an idea of changes they should
make concerning the new name (driver's license, house deed, etc.)
and should also explain where one can go to make such changes.
The diagram below should give a clear picture of the process.
