BEEMAN PROPERTY, LOT NO. 28 SKYLINE ROAD
Statement of the Matter
Staff has been negotiating with Mrs. G. S. Beeman of 3790
Skyline Road, Carlsbad, California, for a number of years
regarding her purchasing an abandoned water pump station
belonging to the City of Carlsbad. This site is on the
corner of her lot.

During this period of time, all of the equipment has been
removed from the building, a small concrete block structure, approximately 10' x 16'. This station is no longer used in
the water system.
Part of the delay in offering the property to Mrs. Beeman has been that up until recently the City fire antenna was located t
Staff has reserved easements for a water line over the Souther1
10' and Easterly 5' of the parcel. The size of the parcel that staff wishes to convey to Mrs. Beeman is 3G' x 32' excluding th
easement mentioned.
Through negotiations with Mrs. Beeman, she has agreed to pay $4 for the property, plus $50 to cover costs of the City. Total Price $450.00.
Staff felt that this figure is adequate, assuming that most R-1 property is approximately $1.00 per square foot for useable lan
easement and land locked property is approximately half that va
therefore the figure of $400 has been used.

Subject: Request for Relinquishment of Abandoned Pumping Station Property - Portion of Lot 28, Carlsbad Estates Map No. 3019 - City of Carlsbad.
Dear Mr. Baldwin:
Thank you for your letter of April 19, 1977, with the specific recon procedure for Mrs. Beeman to consider. After careful review of all the facets of the problems, Mrs. Beeman has elected to proceed as j recommended and enclosed herewith is Check No. 1119 in the amount of $450.00 submitted by Mrs. Beeman.
We ask that the City of Carlsbad proceed immediately with the formal proceedings and this office will coordinate for the execution of the easement deeds to substitute for the relinquishment of the pumping station site. Mrs. Beeman does request that the property be cleaned
with the abandonment by the City Water Department there is a large o growth of weeds and the area does need tidying up. I would be happy to show your utilities department personnel the site and make sugges for making the property presentable for transfer of ownership.
