'Statement of the' Matter

Sealed bids for Contract No. 1038 were opened at 3:00 P.M., on F
Jane 7, 1917 in the office of the City Clerk. Eight (8) �
proposals were submitted as itemized on the bid summary
(Exhibit 1).
The low bid of $6,700.00 was submitted by Doric Painting of
Los Angeles- Budgeted funds in the amount of $10-,000.00 are �
available in Account No. 01-140-2450 for painting, cleaning
drapes, and reshelving of books.
The remaining $3,300.00 should be included'as a continuing
appropriation in the 1477-78 operating budget.

2. Resolution No.417/ accepting bids and authorizing
execution of Contract No. 1038.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution No. 11 accepting bids and authorizing
execution of Contract N 1038.
Direct the City Manager to include $3,300.00 as a continuing
appropriation in the 1977-78 operating budget.
Council Action:
6-21-77 Resolution No. 5119 was'adopted.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHOR-
IZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 1038 FOR
PAINTING CITY LIBRARY.
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad
for painting City Library, Contract No. 1038; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for this construction was
submitted by Doric Painting of Los Angeles in the amount of
$6,700.00; and
WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $10,000.00 were budgeted
in FY 1976-77 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $6,700.00 by Doric Painting of Los Angeles
for Contract No. 1038 for painting City Library is hereby accepted
and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a
contract therefor.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
City Council of the City of Carlsbad held the 21st day of
June , 1977 by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Frazee, Lewis, Packard and Councilwoman Casler.
NOES: None.
AB SENT: Councilman Skotnicki .
