.Bids for Contract No. 1041 were opened at 3:OO P.I.I., on June 6; 1977
in the Office of the City Clerk. Six bid proposals were submitted; see Exhibit 2, bid. summary, for results.
The low bid for the contract was submitted by G. Spikes, Masonry
and Cement Contractor, of San Diego, in the amount of $46,426.50.
Budgeted funds in the amount of $50,000.00 are available for this
project in Account No. 01-128-2411.

RECOMMENDATION :
Adopt Resolution No. x/&, accepting bids and authorizing the execution of Contract No. 1041 for construction of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveways, and cross gutter at various

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHOR-
IZING THE EXECUTION OF CONTRACT NO. 1041 FOR
CONSTRUCTION OF CONCRETE CURB AND GUTTER, SIDEWALK,
DRIVEWAYS, AND CROSS GUTTER AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS.
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad
€or construction of concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk, driveways,
md cross gutter at various locations, Contract No. 1041; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for this construction was
submitted by G. Spikes, Masonry and Cement Contractor, in the
mount of $46,426.50; and
WHEREAS, funds in the amount of $50,000.00 were budgeted
in FY 76-77 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
:ity of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct.
2. The bid of $46,426.50 by G. Spikes, Masonry and Cement
:ontractor of San Diego, for Contract No. 1041 for construction of
:urb and gutter, sidewalk, driveways, and cross gutter at various
locations is hereby accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are
iereby authorized to execute a contract therefor.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the
:ity Council of the City of Carlsbad held the 21St day of
June , 1977 by the following vote, to wit:

Councilmen Frazee, Lewis, Packard and Councilwoman Casler.
