Casey has donated twelve traffic counting machines to the City of Carlsbad. The City Engineering Division is currently in possession of the machines. Mr. Casey formerly operated a traffic counting consultant business but is.no longer operating the business. j The Traffic Engineer indicates that the machines are in reasonably good condition and would be very useful in the department. If the City Council agrees to accept the machines as a gift, the machines will be reconditioned by the Engineering Division. Bussey: Please accept as a donation the following; 1. 5 Fisher Porter traffic counting machines valued at $200.00 each 2. 7 Streeteramet traffic counting machines valued at approximately $25.00 each. If you find that these values differ from yours, please inform me, as I intend to declare these counters as a contribution on my income taxes. Sincerely, John F. Casey cc: Kent Witson, City Engineering I RESOLUTION NO. 5205 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING A GIFT OF 3 TRAFFIC COUNTING EQUIPMENT. 4 WHEREAS, the City has been offered as a donation, twelve (12) 5 traffic counting machines by Mr. John F. Casey; and i g WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift pursuant I 7 to Sections 37354 and 37355 of the California Government Code; 8 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the f i 9 City of Carlsbad, California as follows: 10 1. That the above recitations are true and correct. 11 2.
