Installation of Lighting at Chase Little League Field Cantract No. 1042
Statement of the Matter
The installation of lighting at Chase Little League Field was approved in the 1975-76 Capital Improvement Program. In the 1976-77 Parks Department
budget the project was approved for funding from General Funds and an HCD grant.
The amount budgeted from General Funds ($16,400) for Chase Little League
Field lighting has been carried over in the 1977-78 Continuing Appropria- tions. Due to the reallocation of HCD grant funds, an additional amount
of $13,760, previously budgeted for the Community Center project, is now available for the Chase Little League Field lighting project. The total amount of funds now available for this project in Account !lo. 1-132-3910 is $30,160.

The estimated construction cost is $29,865.
The Carlsbad Unified School District has reviewed the plans and concurs with the installation of the lighting. .

Rcommendation
That City Council adopt Resolution No.TJ6 7 approving plans and speci-
fications and authorizing the City Clerk to invite bids for the installa- tion of lighting at Chase Little League Field to be opened on October 18,
1977 at 3:OO p.m.; and
Council authorize the expenditure of $30,160 from Account
No. 1-132-3910 for Chase Little League Field Lighting Project.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA,
APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS
AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO INVITE
BIDS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF LIGHTING
AT CHASE LITTLE LEAGUE FIELD
CONTRACT NO. 1042
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has
determined that it is necessary and in the public interest to
install lighting at Chase Little League Field; and
WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing
. of all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation and
other expense necessary or incidental for said project, Contract
No. 1042, have been prepared and filed in the Engineering De-
partment of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated by refer-
ence herein ;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad, California, as follows:
1. That the above recitations are true and correct;
2. That the plans and specifications as presented are
hereby approved;
3. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is
hereby authorized and directed to proceed to publish, in accor-
dance with law, notice to contractors inviting bids for instal.la-
tion of lighting at Chase Little League Field, in accordance
with the plans and specifications hereabove referred to.
