INNER CITY SIDEWALKS - CONTRACT NO. 1040
S.tatement of the Matter
On August 24, 1977, the Board of Supervisors approved the agreement for
Implementation of a Community Development Block Grant prcject in Carlsbad.
The block grant involves two projects: Harding Street Community Center
and Inner City Sidewalks.
The sidewalk project design is completed; required right-of-way has been
donated by the property owners; and a negative declaration and Coastal
Permit have been issued.
The grant funds available for the sidewalk project are $13,760. The En-
gineer's estimate for this project is $12,200.

Recommendation
If Council concurs, they should adopt Resolution No. / L approving
plans and specifications and authorizing the City Clerk to invite bids for
the construction of sidewalk to be opened on November 2, 1977 at 3:00 p.m.
Council action
10-4-77 Resolution #5212 was adopted, approving plans and specifications
and authorizing Clerk to invite bids.

CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND
2 AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO INVITE BIDS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF SIDEWALKS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS
3 CONTRACT NO. 1040

4 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has determined that j
5 it is necessary and in the public interest to construct sidewalks at various
l
6 locations; and t
7 WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of all labor,
8 material, tools, equipment, transportation and other expense necessary or
9 incidental for said project, Contract No. 1040, have been prepared and filed
10 in the Engineering Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorpora+ed by
11 reference herein;
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
13 Carlsbad, California; as follows:
14 I. That the above recitations are true and correct;
