STOP CONTROL ON KELLY DRIVE AT PARK DRIVE
Statement of the Matter
Due to the increased pedestrian activity at the above location (public transit
busses are now being used in place of school busses), the Traffic Safety Com-
mission, at its October 3, 1977 meeting, recommended that the existing yield
sign on Kelly Drive be converted to a stop sign.
Due primarily to the excel lent accident history at the intersection (no acci-
dents were recorded for the last five years), the Commission determined that
three-way stop control was not warranted.

. Recommendation
If Council concurs, rescind Resolution No. 5065 which established yield control
and adopt Resolution No. J2LqL es-fablishing stop control for southbourid traffic
on Kelly Drive at Park Drive.
Council Action:
10-18-77 Council adopted Resolution >io. 5235, designa.ting stop control
on Kelly Drive at its intersection with Park Drive.

RESOLUTION NO. 5235
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
' OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING STOP CONTROL ON KELLY DRIVE AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH PARK DRIVE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
as follows:
That "STOP" control be established on Kelly Drive at its intersection
with Park Drive, thereby requiring southbound traffic on Kelly Drive to stop
for all traffic on Park Drive.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad,
California, at a regular meeting held the 18th day of October , 1977,
by the follow ng vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Frazee, Lewis, Packard and Skotnicki
NOES: None
