Construction and Installation of Gas Mixing System for Digestion Tank No. 2
Contract No. 1050
STATEMENT OF THE MATTER:
The Joint Advisory Committee for the Encina Water Pollution Control
Facility has approved advertising for bids for replacing the mixing
system in Digester No, 2. The new system is expected to reduce foam-
ing and increase digester capacity.
The estimated cost of construction and installation of the Gas Mixing
System is $35,000. Funds in the amount of $35,000 are available in
Account No. 12-117-2450 (1977-78 Budget).

General Manager) .

RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution No, JTJ v I approving specifications and authorizing
the City Clerk to advertise for bids to be opened April 19, 1978 at
3:00 p.m.

2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING CITY CLERK
3 TO INVITE BIDS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF
GAS MIXING SYSTEM FOR DIGESTION TANK NO. 2 AT THE ENCINA
4 ' WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY - CONTRACT'NO. 1050 •
5 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has determined it is
6 necessary and in the public interest to construct and install a Gas Mixing
7 System for Digestion Tank No. 2 at the Encina Water Pollution Control Facility;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of all labor, ma-
10 terial, tools, equipment, transportation, and other expense necessary or in-
11 cidental for said project, Contract No. 1050, have been prepared and filed
12 in the Office of the-Encina Plant Manager in the City of Carlsbad and are in-
13 corporated by reference herein;
14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the^City of Carls-
15 bad, California, as follows:
16 |. That the above recitations are true and correct.
17 2. That the specifications as presented are hereby approved.
18 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and
19 directed to proceed to publish, in accordance with law, notice to contractors
20 inviting bids for installing Gas Mixing System in accordance with the plans
21 and specifications hereinabove referred to.
22 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
23 at a regular meeting held the 4th day of Apri 1 , 1978, by the fo! low-
24 ing vote, to wit:
