(Magee House Privy - Restoration)
Statement of the Matter
The Welcome Wagon Newcomers Club of Carlsbad held a benefit!
to raise funds for the restoration of the privy on the Magee
House property. The amount raised was $150.00 and they are
requesting Council approval for. the acceptance of the gift
of the funds.
The club would like to present the money to a City representativ
at their luncheon meeting on May 18, 1978.

Recommendation
Council may accept the gift of funds by minute motion and
direct staff to prepare appropriate letter of appreciation
on behalf of the City.

The Velcme Wagon flewcaners Club of Carlsbad recently held a benefit
dinner-show during which fimds were raised for the purpose of restoration
of the privy on the HcGee House property; this was done with the express
aqproval of Ed Johnson formerly Parks and &creation Director for the city.

and we are hereby seeking your approval to deliver this sum to a City
representative during our regular luncheon meeting on 18 May 1978.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA ACCEPTING
A GIFT OF MONEY FOR RESTORATION OF THE
PRIVY ON THE MAGEE HOUSE PROPERTY.
WHEREAS, the Welcome Wagon Newcomers Club of Carlsbad
to present the City of Carlsbad the sum of $150.00 for the
restoration of the privy on the Magee House property; and
WHEREAS, the City Council wishes to accept this gift
to Sections 37354 and 37355 of the Califorriia Government C
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
City of Carlsbad as follows:

That the above recitations are true and correct.
That the City Council accepts the gift of money j
