Statement of the Matter
The Utilities/Maintenance Department has submitted a list of streets to be resurfaced under the 1977-78 Street Resurfacing Program. Department has reviewed the list and sent notices to the utilities companies, districts, and departments to ascertain any conflicts with proposed utility projects.
The Engineering
If Council approves this list, we will request approval of plans and specifi- cations at the Nay 16, meeting and would be to Council on June 20, 1978 for
award of contract. $140,000 are available h Account 2-2G&234f0.
Staff recommendation assumes a unit price of $17/ton.- Last year's contract price was $96,678.90.

The evaluation of City streets in accordance with Council Policy 21, has recently been completed. Program are contained as Enclosure (1). This list was developed on the basis that the cost of AC in place would be approximately $17 per ton. A detailed evaluation of the 41 streets considered to be most in need of overlay is contained as Enclosure (2). Work sheets, providing the eval- uation scores and more precise locations and dimensions are contained as Enclosures (3) and (4).
It is suggested that Enclosirres (1) and (2) will provide sufficient data , for Council review in approving the streets prior to preparation of specifi- cations.
