ADULT SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD AND NO PARKING ZONE - JEFFERSON ST. AT LAS FLORES
Statement of the Matter
At its October 3, 1977 meeting, the Traffic Safety Commission recommended
a school crosswalk be established on the south leg of Jefferson Street
at its intersection with Las Flores Drive, but only in the event an adult
school crossing guard can be provided. In addition, the Commission recom-
mended that a NO PARKING ANYTIME zone be established on each side of Jef-
ferson Street for 100 feet in advance of the proposed crosswalk in order
to provide safe sight distance.

COUNCIL ACTION:
5-16-78 Resolution No. 5415 was adopted, designating a parking restriction on Jefferson Street at Las Flores Drive.
Resolution No. 5416 was adopted, authorizing transfer of funds for school crossing guard at Jefferson Street and Las Flores Drive.
Council authorized the Police Department to select one additional adult crossing guard for the intersection of Jefferson Street and Las Flores Drive at a cost of $1,800.00 for fiscal year 1978-79.

RESOLUTION NO. 5415
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING A PARKING RESTRICTION
ON JEFFERSON STREET AT LAS FLORES DRIVE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
as follows:
That a NO PARKING ANYTIME zone be established on both sides of Jefferson
Street from a point 100 feet north of the south curbline of Las Flores Drive
southerly for a distance of 200 feet.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carisbad,
California, at a regular meeting held the 16th day of Mav I
1978, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES : Councilmen Packard, Skotnicki, Anear and Councilwoman Casler
NOES : None

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCl L OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR SCHOOL CROSSING ~
GUARD AT JEFFERSON STREET AND LAS FLORES DRIVE
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
I. That the transfer of Four Hundred Dol lars ($400) to be used for a
part-time adult school crossing guard at the intersection of Jefferson Street
and Las Flores Drive from the General Fund Unappropriated Reserves to Police
Department Part-time Salaries is hereby authorized and approved.
2. That Department of Finance Fund Transfer No. 49 on file in said
department and incorporated by reference herein is approved.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council on
the 16th day of Mav , 1978, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES : Councilmen Packard, Skotnicki, Anear and
NOES : None
