A ~ESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF MADISON STREET AND 20-FOOT ALLEY
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California,
as f0110ws:
1. The City Council of the City of Carlsbad does hereby declare its in-
tention to proceed under the provisions of Street Vacation Act of 1941 to va-
cate that certain portion of Madison Street and 20-foot alley, located within
the City of Carlsbad, County of San Diego, State of California, particularly
described on Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof.
2. A public hearing shall be held at the City Council Chambers at 1200
Elm Avenue, Carlsbad, California, at 7:30 p.m., August 15, 1978, for the pur-
pose of hearing all persons interested in or objecting to said proposed va-
cation.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of
the City of Carlsbad held the 18t h day of July , 1978, by the
following vote, to wit:

I respectfully request on behalf of Dr. Francis Murphy
that you vacate the rights of the public in and to that certain 20.00 foot wide Alley and that portion of Madison Street (formerly Third S%reet) as shown on the attached plat and des- cr'ibed in the attached legal description.
The portion of ,Madison Street proposed to be vacated is excess right-of-way. There are no improvements in the por- tion to be vacated and it is not necessary to provide for the ultimate traffic circulation as shown on the Circulation Element of the General Plan.
The alley proposed to be vacated is only 100.00 feet long. It extends from Grand Ave, on the South to the parking lot of the old Mayfair Supermarket on the North. The parking lot has adequate access to Roosevelt St. and Madison St. and would not be affected by the vacation of the alley.
