CONTRACT FOR LABOR RELATIONS CONSULTANT
Statement of the Matter
Pursuant to the authority granted in Municipal Code Section
3.28.160, the City Manager on April 18, 1978 entered into an
agreement with tiilliam Hamilton and Associates for Management
Consultant Services regarding Employer -Employee relations in
the City of Carlsbad.
Subsequent events will prolong the need for the Consultant's
services beyond the originally anticipated period. Such
.extended services may exceed the City Manager's authority under
Section 3.28.160. Therefore, it is requested that the City
Council authorize the Mayor to sign.a letter from.William Hamilton
and.Associates.dated August 29, 1978, acknowledging the continuation
of their contract dated April 24, 1978.

A RESOLUTION'OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH
WILLIAM HAMILTON AND ASSOCIATES FOR THE
PURPOSE OF SERVING AS LABOR RELATION
CONSULTANTS.
WHEREAS, the City Council has determined the need to have the
services of a labor relation consultant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Cailsbad, California as follows:
10 1. That the above statement is true and correct.
11 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to sign the agreement
12 dated August 29, 1978 from William•Hamilton and Associates, for
13 labor consultant services which is attached hereto -and made a part
14 hereof, as Appendix 'A'.
15 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting -of the
16 City Council on the 5th day of September , 1978-, by
17 the following vote, to wit:
-18 AYES: Councilmen Packard, Skotnicki, Anear, Lewis and
Councilwoman Casler
19 NOES: None
