Hd . > C? l> SUBJECT: Contract No. 1055 - Modification of Digestion Tanks No. 1 and 3 at the Encina Water Pollution Control Facility Statement of the Matter Bids for the digester projects were opened on October 4, 1978 by the City Clerk's office. Exhibit 1 summarizes the bids received for each contract item. Bay City Marine of San Diego submitted the low bids for Items 2 and 4 of $27,375 each. Astropak of Downey sub- mitted the low bid for Item 1 of $32,500. Don Hubbard Contracting Co. of Encinitas sub- mitted the low bid of $31,500 for Item 3. The bid documents authorize the City of Carls- bad to award separate contracts for each of the items. Astropak indicated that they were only interested in performing the entire contract. Funds in the amount of $158,000 have been budgeted and approved by the Joint Advisory Committee for the Digester Modification Project. Exhibits 1. Spread Sheet of bids received. 2.
