As of October 16, 1978, this position will be vacated by the incumbent. Due to the current pace of activity in this section it is requested that Council authorization to refill this position be sought immediately. This section is currently involved in the following activities: 1. Block Grant implementation a. Third year housing rehabilitation program b. Fourth year village area improvements 2. Block Grant planning a. Fifth year application process 3. Redevelopment a. Final plan adoption in January, 1979 4. Special projects a. Senior housing b. Adult entertainment: c. Reiocation Without this position, an acceptable level of activity cannot be maintained in all, projects. For instance, the January, 1979 date commonly used as estimated completion of the redevelopment plan assumes no ma;or problems in processing and the existence of the intern position to handle Block Grant coordination and special projects not directly related to housing or redevelopment. In addition, the Fifth Year Block Grant timetable was predicated ,upon the existence of the same position. It is therefore, requested that this item be placed on the next Council agenda with a request that authorization be given to fill this position from the existing administrative intern list.
