HOLIDAY PARK COMFORT STATION - CONTRACT NO. 1056
Statement of the Matter
Bids for the construction of a new comfort station at Holiday Park were
opened by the City Clerk at 3:OO p.m. on November 8, 1978.
received and are shown on the attached Bid Summary.

The low bid was submitted by Blakely, Inc. of San Marcos in the amount of
$34,340. In
view of the recent high inflation in the construction industry our estimate
does not accurately reflect today's construction costs. (The estimate was prepared in March, 1977.)
Budgeted funds in the amount of $31,000 are available in the project account
(#O-000-3014). Additional funds in the amount of $8,000 can be transferred
as follows: $6,000 from unappropriated funds in the Revenue Sharing Account
(#26-000-0900) and $2,000 from the General Fund (#01-000-0900).
The bid exceeds the architect's estimate of $28,200 by 20%.

SUBJECT: HOLIDAY PARK COMFORT STATION - CONTRACT NO. 1056
Bids for subject project were opened on November 8, 1978, and a low bid
of $34,340 was submitted by Blakely, Inc. of San Marcos. The bid ex-
ceeded the estimate (prepared in March, 1977) by 20%; however, staff feels
the bid is responsive in terms of today's escalating construction costs.

Funds in the amount of $31,000 were budgeted in the 1978-79 Revenue Shar-
ing Account for this project. Additional funds in the amount of $8,000

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TEE CITY OF
CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF
FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE COMFORT STATION AT
HOLIDAY PARK

BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the transfer of Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00) from the
Revenue Sharing Account and Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00) from the General
Fund to the Holiday Park Comfort Station Project Account is hereby authorized
and approved.
2. That Department of Finance Fund Transfer No. 8 on file in said de-
partment and incorporated by reference herein is approved.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council on
the 21st day of November , 1978, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Packard, Skotnicki, Anear, Lewis and

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, ACCEPTING BIDS AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF CONTRACT NO. 1056 FOR CONSTRUCTION OF THE HOLIDAY PARK
COMFORT STAT I ON
WHEREAS, bids have been received by the City of Carlsbad for construction
of the Holiday Park Comfort Station, Contract No. 1056; and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for this construction was submitted by
Blakely, Inc., in the amount of $34,340; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 0-000-3014 for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Carlsbad as fol lows:
I. The above recitations' are. true and correct.
2. The bid of $34,340 by Blakely, Inc. of San Marcos for Contract No.
1056 for construction of the Holiday Park Comfort Station is hereby accepted,
and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a contract
there for.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
at a regular meeting held thezlst day of November , 1978, by the follow-
