This gift was to be used for the enjoyment of the children of Carlsbad. Pursuant to that require- ment, at its last meeting the Parks and Recreation Commission re- commended the purchase of a gym center to include a horizontal ladder, parallel bars, climbing pole, up and over fences and tri- level turning bars. Some of the alternates considered were wooden climbers and swings but these were not selected as either their costs were prohibitive or they could not be used concurrently by as great a number of children.
