ML DEPARTMENT: Planning ._ ' SUBJECT: FEES FOR CONDOMINIUM PERMITS Statement of the Matter The recently adopted condominium ordinance does not establish fees for condominium permits. Instead, as per Section 21.47.040, "the filing fees for condominium permits shall be in an amount as the City Council may by resolution establish." This was done for flexibility in determining what fees should be and to permit modification from time to time without requiring ordinance amendment. ' • In the future the City will probably develop a comprehensive fee schedule for all permits based, at least partially on cost recovery. However, at this time staff does not know the extent . of the cost to the City required in processing condominium permits. Therefore, staff recommends that the fee for condominium permits be the same as required for a Planned Unit Development. The processing is nearly identical and therefore the"fees should be comparable. . The fee for a condominium permit is $50.00 per application plus $1.00 per unit. This fee is reflected in the attached resolution prepared for your adoption. Exhibits City Council Resolution No. J^fp*/7 . Recommendation If the City Council concurs, you should adopt Resolution No. ^/a^jf, establishing fees for condominium permits.
