Mgr. 3 DEPARTMENT : Pub1 ic Works Subject : LA COSTA CANYON PARK - CONTRACT NO. 1045 Statement of the Matter On November 7, 1978, the City Council rejected the only bid received for the construction of the first phase of the park and instructed staff to modify plans, specifications and cost estimates. There is currently $141,000 ap- proved for the project. Plans and speci (on file in the Public Works Administrator's office) Recommendation That City Council select the most desirable alternate plan and adopt Resolution No. ~~J~approving plans and specifications and authorizing the City Clerk to advertise for bids to be opened March 16, 1979 at 4:OO p.m. Counci 1 action: 1-16-79 Council adopted Resolution No. 5655, approving plans and specs and authorizing the Clerk to invite bids for improvement of La Costa Canyon Park in accordance with Alternate I'D'' with the elimination of Item #7, the concrete walkways. Prior to the January 16, 1979 City Council meeting, the plans will be posted in the City Council Chambers. Pub I i c Works Admi n i st rator RAB: J E: VEB ,- I 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 . 20 21 '22 23 24 25 26 27 .. 28 RESOLUTION NO. 5655 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY C0UNCl.L OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, THE CITY CLERK TO INVITE BIDS FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF LA COSTA CANYON PARK - CONTRACT NO. 1045 CALIFORNIA, APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND AUTHORIZING , WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Carlsbad has determined it is necessary and in the public interest to improve La Costa Canyon Park; and WHEREAS, plans and specifications for the furnishing of all labor, ma- terial, tools, equipment, transportation and other expense necessary or inci- dental for said project, Contract No. 1045, have been prepared and filed in the Public Works Department of the City of Carlsbad and are incorporated by reference herein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carls- bad, California, as follows: 1.' That the above recitations are true and correct. 2. That the plans and specifications as presented are hereby approved. 3. That the City Clerk of the City of Carlsbad is hereby authorized and directed to proceed to publish, in accordance with law, notice to contractors inviting bids for the improvement of La Costa Canyon Park, in accordance with plans and specifications hereinabove referred to.
