TRAILER STORAGE
Statement of the Matter
On January 2, 1979, the City Council reviewed a request to amend the
Zone Code to permit the use of a mobile trailer on the property of
South Coast Asphalt. The City Council denied the request, but during
the discussion some issues were brought up about trailers in general
and how they are regulated by the City Code, especially as to storage
of unused trailers.
Explanation of the present regulations on "trailers" is contained
in the attached memo. It notes that certain changes should be
accomplished. Some changes staff intends to do in a comprehensive
review of the mobile home park standards, while changes in RV storage
hopefully will be accomplished soon, as a separate matter. The only
aspect not being considered for Code amendment is the storage 6'f or
use of commercial and construction trailers.

RECOMMENDATION
If the City Council believes that clarity is needed for the storage
and/or use of trailers, it is recommended that Council direct staff
to prepare an ordinance amendment and forward it to the Planning
Commission for hearing.
