SEPTIC TANK SYSTEMS AS AN ALTERNATE METHOD OF SEWAGE DISPOSAL
Statement of the Matter
The City Council at your March 20, 1979 meeting directed
the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance adding a chapter to the Municipal Code regulating the use of septic tanks.
The ordinance as recommended by the City Engineer is
attached. Also attached is an ordinance amending the
Municipal Code to eliminate the 15,000 square foot minimum
for the use of septic tanks on existing lots. The amend-
ment has the effect of restoring the County Ordinance
in the matter which provides a 6,000 square foot minimum.
Exhibits -

MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE DELETION OF SUBSECTION
(H) TO REVISE THE MINIMUM LOT AREA SIZE RE-
QUIRED FOR THE INSTALLATION OR CONSTRUCTION
OF SUBSURFACE SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS.

The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: That Title 6, Chapter 6.02, Section 6.02.010 of
the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the deletion of Sub-
section (h).
EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty
days after its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least
once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after its adoption,
