Mgr. $, Subject: J SEPTIC TANK SYSTEMS AS AN ALTERNATE METHOD OF SEWAGE DISPOSAL Statement of the Matter The City Council at your March 20, 1979 meeting directed the City Attorney to prepare an ordinance adding a chapter to the Municipal Code regulating the use of septic tanks. The ordinance as recommended by the City Engineer is attached. Also attached is an ordinance amending the Municipal Code to eliminate the 15,000 square foot minimum for the use of septic tanks on existing lots. The amend- ment has the effect of restoring the County Ordinance in the matter which provides a 6,000 square foot minimum. Exhibits - Ordinance No. 705b , approving addition of Chapter 13.20 regulating the use of septic tanks. Ordinance No. JDh-6 , amending Chapter 6.02, Section 6.02.010 to eliminate the 15,000 square foot minimum lot area size for use of septic tanks. (2) 13.20.020 Requirements for septic tank systems. CHAPTER 6.02, SECTION 6.02.010 OF THE CARLSBAD . . The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: That Title 6, Chapter 6.02, Section 6.02.010 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the deletion of Sub- section (h).
