Subject:COUNCIL POLICY NO. 2 AMENDING MILEAGE PAYMENT
Statement of the Matter
The City has paid mileage to employees who use their own car on
City business at the rate of 15<? per mile since November 20, 1974
A survey of cities in North County, as well as Carlsbad Municipal
Water District, State of California and P.O.S.T. indicates the
prevailing rate is between 18C to 2l£ per mile. Due to the
present gas situation and the significant increase in gasoline
prices it is felt an adjustment should be made.

Recommendation
That Council establish a 20C per mile reimbursement for use of
private vehicles and instruct staff to amend Council Policy
No. 2, as necessary.
