Amendment to Agreement Between City of Carlsbad and
the Regents of the University of California, San
Diego Campus, for Paramedic Training.
Statement of the Matter
The fire department has received a letter dated July 13,
1979, requesting that we execute a Second Amendment to
Agreement with the Regents, for Paramedic Training.
The request is for an extension to said agreement (Face 5,
Paragraph 17) from June 30, 1979 to September 30, 1979, to
be executed by the proper official of the City of Carlsbad_

Recommendation
If City Councilconcurs, to approve the second amendment
to the Agreement between the City of Carlsbad and the
Regents of the University of California, San Diego Campus,
and authorize the Mayor to execute said second amendment
to the Agreement. Adopt Resolution No."( -/
Council Action:
8-7-79 Council adopted Resolution 5864, approving a Second Amendment to
an agreement with the Regents of the University of California,
San Diego Campus, to provide paramedic instruction.

SUBJECT: Agreement for Paramedic Training/University of
California
In accordance with a request from the University of California
Board of Regents dated July 13, 1979, we are attaching the
Agenda Bill and Resolution necessary to execute a second
amendment to the Agreement with the Board of Regents extend-
ing the time period from June 30, 1979 to September 30, 1979
for Paramedic Training.
We have also been requested to forward a Certificate of
Insurance for the amended period of time, noting that our
insurance policy expired July 1, 1979.

Attached, please find four copies of a Second Amendment to Agreement
with The Regents, for Paramedic Training, which has been executed on behalf
of The Regents.
Please have the proper official execute all copies of the Agreement. Return
three originally- signed, fully -executed copies to this office, retaining one copy
for your files. Also, the Amendment should be dated when executed.
Please note your your insurance policy with Ingham, Coats & Payne expired
July 1, 1979. It is requested you forward a Certificate of Insurance for the
amended period as soon as possible. The Regents have requested their Certificate
of Insurance, which will be forwarded to you as soon as it is received by this office.

The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California does

hereby resolve as follows:

1. That that certain agreement between the City of Carlsbad

and 'the Regents of the University of California, San Diego Campus,

for paramedic instruction be amended as follows:

(1. The date "June 30, 1979" appearing in Paragraph 17 is

deleted and the date "September 30, 1979" is substituted therefore.

Except as herein expressly amended this 7th day of

August 19 79, said Agreement remains in full force and

effect.)

2. That the Mayor of the City of Carlsbad is hereby author-

ized and directed to execute said second amendment to the agreement

for and on behalf of the City of Carlsbad.
3.8 PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City

Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, held on the 7th

day of August 1979 by the following vote, to wit:

SECOND AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT.
THIS SECOND AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT dated January 8 ,
1979, by and between THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA,
on behalf of The Department of Ancs*.hesiology, School. of Medicine,
University of California, and �ARLS�iF7i DrPAR_ TT
is hereby amended as follows:
1. The hate "June 30, 1979" appearing in Paragraph 17. is
deleted and the date "September 30, 1979" is substituted therefore.
Except as herein expressly amended this 7th day of
August 1979, said Agrcemant remains in full. force
and effect.
