Subject: pARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION .RECOMMENDATIONS
REGARDING PRIORITIES FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS.
Statement of the Matter
At their June 5, 1979 meeting, the City Council requested that the Parks
and Recreation Commission review and reprioritize the Paired Weighting
Listing of Capital Improvement Projects.
The Parks and Recreation Commission, at their July 16, 1979 meeting
reviewed the parks projects listings. In making their recommendations,
the Commission deleted two sites which appeared on the Paired Weighting
Listing: Cannon Park Shelter House and Cannon Park Comfort Station.
Additionally, the Commission recommended three sites which were not on
the Paired Weighting listing: Multi-Use Athletic Areas, Cannon Lake Park
and La Costa Worth. The results of the Commission review are contained
in Exhibit 1.
Exhibit
1. List of Parks projects prioritized by the Parks and Recreation
Commission.
2. Results of the City of Carlsbad Paired Weighting Exercise.
Recommendation
If Council concurs, accept the list prioritized by the Parks and Recreation
Commission with the two deletions and three additions.
Manager's Note:
Since the Council has indicated that they wish to review the Parks and
Recreation Element of the General Plan, it might be more appropriate to
review Parks and Recreation project priorities after that review.
Council Action:
8-7-79 Council continued the matter to the meeting of August 21, 1979.
8-21-79 Council determined to review the project priority list after the
review of the Parks and Recreation Element of the General Plan.
