CONSTRUCTION OF LIBRARY MEZZANINE EXTERIOR STAIRWAY
CONTRACT NO. 1062
STATEMENT OF THE MATTER
On August 7, 1979, the City Council approved plans and specifications and authorized
the City Clerk to invite bids. One sealed bid was received and opened at 4:00
p.m.
on September 18, 1979 and is shown on,the attached Bid Summary. The bid was submitted
by Michael'Straub, General Contractor, of Carlsbad in the amount of $11,130 which ex-
ceeds the Engineer's estimate.
Budgeted funds in the amount of $8,560 are allocated in the project fund, 01-170-3071. To complete the project; as required by the City Fire Department,�naddi-
tional funds, $2,570, could be transferred from the Unappropriated Reserves, Account
No. 01-000-0900, to.the project fund.
If the contract is awarded, construction could start approximately November 1, 1979
and is scheduled to be completed within 45 consecutive calendar days or by Ncember 17,
1979.

Council Action:
10-2-79 Council adopted Resolution 5941, authorizing the transfer of funds
and adopted Resolution 5942, accepting bid and authorizing execution
of Contract No. 1062 for construction of Library Mezzanine
exterior stairway.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF FUNDS FOR THE
CONSTRUCTION OF THE LIBRARY MEZZANINE EXTERIOR STAIRWAY
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad as follows:
1. That the transfer of Two Thousand Five Hundred Seventy Dollars
($2,570.00) from Unappropriated Fund Balance, Account No. 01-000-0900, to the
Library Mezzanine Exterior Stairway Project Fund, Account No. 01-170-3071, is
hereby authorized and approved.
2. That the Department of Finance Fund Transfer No. 14 on file in said
department and incorporated by reference herein is approved.

and
WHEREAS, the low bid received for this construction was submitted by
ilichael Straub, General Contractor, of Carlsbad in the amount of $11,130.00; and
3 WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 01-170-3071 for this project;
10 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Carlsbad
11 as follows:
12 - 1. The above recitations are true and correct.

14 1062 for the construction of the Library Mezzanine Exterior Stairway is hereby
15 accepted and the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute a con-
