SUBJECT: Polling of Member Agencies, Regarding
Attendance of Alternates at CPO
Board Meetings
The purpose of this memo is to remind you that at -the Octobermeeting,
the Board voted to request each Board member to -poll his/her=council
or board to determine whether or not they would favor a JPA amend-
ment to ,provide compensation to alternates for -attending two CPO
Board meetings a year. The Board based this action on the rationale
thaHn general the alternates need'a formal opportunity to� become
more familiar with -the complex process and functions of CPO.
The Board also requested the counsel present a JPA- amendment to
accomplish this change at the next Board meeting, at which time the
Board may. determine whether or not..to forward the amendment to
member agencies for adoption.
