STATEMENT OF THE MATTER
Work under the above project has been satisfactorily completed. The final contract

was such that the exact extent of damage to the subject streets could not be known un-
til actual excavation and investigation was done. City inspectors were at the job
site when the extra work was done and concur that the charges are reasonable. Funds
are available for transfer from the General Fund Unappropriated Reserves. Ten pei-csr:t
of the final contract amount ($4,870.21) will be withheld until 35 days after the
Notice of Completion records.
The additional work was a result of the removal and'replacement of a significant

MEMORANDUM
DATE : December 11, 1979
TO: CITY MANAGER
FROM: FINANCE DIRECTOR
SUBJECT: APPROPRIATION OF ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR CONTRACT #lo06
The attached council agenda bill asks that a total of $4,550 be transferred from the general fund balance to the project account to cover additional costs of this contract. A Finance Department review of the general fund balance account indicates that sufficient funds currently exist and that their transfer will have no major negative effect on the City's fiscal position.
Based on this review, I would recommend approval of the
transfer.
