Statement of the Matter
Several years ago Council declared certain Water Department prope: as surplus, including the property at the corner of Foussat Road
and Mission Avenue in Oceanside. At that time requirements of
local and state bodies were met in anticipation of a sale of this Sroperty and an appraisal was obtained.
The City Manager's office has received a request thru Coldwell Banker Company to purchase the property. Since the appraisal is
six years old, staff is requesting approval for a reappraisal by
an M.A.I. in order to establish a rnininum bid price. When this
is obtained, details for a 2ossible sale will be presented.

Recommendation
That staff be authorized to obtain an updated appraisal on the
property located at Foussat and Mission in Oceanside.
Council Action:
1-2-80 The matter was returned to staff for preparation of a report
to possible uses of the property.

RE: PURCHASE OF PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF CARLSBAD
Dear Wayne:
Pursuant to my meeting with Bill Baldwin last week, this letter is to follow-up and make a formal request to the City
of Carlsbad for the purchase of property owned by the City. As you know, we represent Mr. F. M. Brusseau, owner of the Newport National Corporation, a development firm based in San Juan Capistrano.
We would like to formally request that the City Council
institute proceedings so that we may offer to purchase the 2.75 acre City owned parcel located at the SEC of Mission Avenue and Foussat Road known as Tax Assessor’s Parcel #160- 270-13. From my discussions with Bill, we learned the procedure for the sale of City owned property and would like the City Council to consider the sale at this time.
