Subject: ZONE CODE AMENDMENT - E-A ZONE TO PERMIT FOOD PROCESSING PLANTS BY CUP: ZCA-120 Statement of the Matter The City Council, at your February 19, 1980 meeting, directed the City Attorney to prepare the necessary documents amending Title 21 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code to allow processing plants for farm crops by conditional use permit in the Exclusive Agricultural Zone. An ordinance adopting ZCA-120 is attached. Exhibits Ordinance No. Recommendation If the City Council concurs, Ordinance No. ff^-^yshould be introduced. S | 14££is 15:-v3iv UJ O S 8 o- 16 17 U)o „Z O 10 > H C t 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 ORDINANCE NO. 9545 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 21, CHAPTER 21.07, SECTION 21.07.040 OF THE CARLSBAD MUNICIPAL CODE BY THE AMENDMENT OF SUBSECTION (7) TO ALLOW PROCESSING PLANTS FOR FARM CROPS BY CON- DITIONAL USE PERMIT IN THE EXCLUSIVE AGRICULTURAL ZONE. The City Council of the City of Carlsbad, California, does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: That Title 21, Chapter 21.07, Section 21.07.040 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code is amended by the amendment of Subsection (7) to read as follows: "(7) Packing sheds and processing plants for farm crops similar to those being grown on the premises, provided no such processing plant is located within 50 feet of any lot line." EFFECTIVE DATE: This ordinance shall be effective thirty days after its adoption, and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and cause it to be published at least once in the Carlsbad Journal within fifteen days after its adoption.
