Mgr. . -- ---..____--.- -I-- DEPARTMENT: SUBJECT: COUNCIL APPROVAL E ADOPTION OF RECOMMENDATIONS OF TRAFFIC SAFETY COMMISSION - --.-- , --- - STATEMENT OF THE MATTER The following items require approval of the City Council prior to implementation. 1. In response to a request by the Police Department, the Traffic Safety Commission recommended that a "no parking'' zone be establ ished along Palomar Airport Road I& miles east of El Camino Real. These signs are a continuation of the exist- ing sign pattern past a curve and to a private blind entrance. 2. The Traffic Safety Commission recommended the establishment of a two-way stop on Cazadero at Corintia to assign right-of-way and prevent future accidents. The approach to this intersection on Cazadero from the west has inadequate sight dis- tance which cannot be cured by a ''yield" sign. 3. The Traffic Safety Commission recommended the replacement of a "yield" sign on Highland at its intersection with Adams with a "stop" sign. The ability to drive 15 m.p.h. through the intersection without danger (which is the normal design criteria for a "yield" sign) is not realistic at this location.
